BOC: Innovative VET Tool (Vocational Education and Training), pioneering in open educational resources; free and open access to innovative training in the design, installation and maintenance of safer and challenging play areas.
SAFERPLAY is a European project funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission, which has as main objective to develop a BOC (Badged Open Course) on innovative training in the design, installation and maintenance of safer and challenging play areas.
This course is intended for architects, designers and landscapers, technical staff of companies in charge of the installation and maintenance of play areas, risk assessors, manufacturers of playground equipment and surfaces play areas inspectors and public administration, and owners of play areas in parks, schools, public and private nurseries and other recreational and leisure facilities.
The project aims to contribute to the creation of the SAFERPLAY community, encompassing a multidisciplinary group of professionals dedicated to the design, installation and maintenance of play areas.
In addition to training, this innovative tool will provide interactive forums for users, where the exchange of experience and collaborative learning will be encouraged. The training materials will integrate the knowledge of the different areas of practical experience, the field of research and formal education through a holistic approach.
BOC SAFERPLAY is expected to be ready February 2018, and it will be available in Spanish, English, Portuguese, Czech, Croatian and German. The technology developed will allow the access to the course with any device, PC, mobile or tablet, providing that the user has access to the Internet.
