3rd Multiplier Event of the SAFERPLAY project in Vinkovci (Croatia)

Within the project “SAFERPLAY – Innovative training on design, installation and maintenance of safe and challenging play areas” Vukovar-Srijem County Development Agency Hrast Ltd partner and an organizer of the event, held a free workshop on 9/11/2017 at the Hotel Villa Lenije on the use of wood as a material for equipping playgrounds. This topic is part of the contents of the SAFERPLAY course.

More than 60 participants attended the workshop, where the following conferences were offered:

  • Introduced with handbook “Child safety in schools – quality and technical descriptions of wood products. Equipping educational facilities”.
  • Example of a wooden playground Juarezova in Prague.
  • Opportunities and challenges for risk management related to outdoor wooden play equipment.
  • Wood chips or barks as playing surfaces.
  • Using of new technologies as learning resource to improve professionals’ skills; and
  • SAFERPLAY project and its results.

All participants on behalf of the VSC DA Hrast Ltd was welcomed by Ms Ana Škrabo who was the moderator of the workshop and the presenters were Ms Danijela Domljan and Mr Zoran Vlaović from the Faculty of Forestry at University of Zagreb, Mr Henry Hanson from the Ceske vysoke uceni technicke v Praze, Ms Helena Menezes from H.Menezes/RISK VISION, Ms Nicola Butler from Play England, Mr Pedro Pernías from the University of Alicante and Ms Encarna Alemañ and Ms Karina Pernías from AIJU -Technological institute for children’s products and leisure.
